Jakarta (B2B) - Pendidikan tinggi Indonesia menunjukkan perkembangan positif setelah sejumlah program studi memperoleh akreditasi internasional seperti fakultas pertanian di Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB) di peringkat 150 dunia, dua perguruan tinggi masuk peringkat 500 universitas kelas dunia, dan 60% lulusan perguruan tinggi langsung bekerja.

Menteri Riset, Teknologi dan Pendidikan Tinggi (Menristek Dikti) Mohammad Nasir mengatakan indikator lain adalah 75% lulusan perguruan tinggi memperoleh Indeks Prestasi Kumulatif (IPK) di atas 2,75 dan 60% lulusan langsung memperoleh pekerjaan.

"Dalam meningkatkan mutu lulusan perguruan tinggi, beragam upaya dilakukan kementerian mulai dari penertiban perguruan tinggi yang tidak taat azas, penertiban dan kaji ulang beragam peraturan pendidikan tinggi sehingga dapat mendorong penyelenggaraan pendidikan tinggi yang bermutu, upaya mendorong akreditasi perguruan tinggi dan program studi secara nasional maupun internasional," kata M Nasir kepada pers di Jakarta pada Senin (28/12) saat memaparkan kilas balik riset, teknologi dan pendidikan tinggi 2015.

Menurutnya, peningkatan kualitas dan kuantitas dosen melalui beasiswa, pelatihan dan sertifikasi, peningkatan kualitas dan kuantitas tenaga kependidikan, kerjasama pendidikan tinggi dengan berbagai negara, penyediaan beragam skema beasiswa dan beragam jenis pendidikan tinggi untuk mahasiswa, sehingga semua calon mahasiswa potensial dapat kuliah di perguruan tinggi, dan nantinya akan mampu mengisi kebutuhan pasar kerja di dalam maupun luar negeri, peningkatan kualitas dan kuantitas riset dan pengembangan, serta peningkatan jumlah inovasi. 

Nasir menambahkan, jumlah dosen yang S2 dan S3 sudah mencapai 75% sementara jumlah profesor saat ini sudah mencapai 5.500 orang. Sedangkan rasio jumlah peneliti adalah 550 per sejuta orang penduduk dan karya ilmiah mereka sudah tersebar secara internasional. Pada tahun 2014, jumlah terbitan Indonesia sudah mencapai lebih dari 5.500 judul menurut Scopus Index, sedikit lebih tinggi dari Vietnam, serta 45% di antaranya ditulis melalui kolaborasi dengan peneliti asing. 

"Saat ini kementerian telah memiliki Rencana Induk Riset Nasional yang akan memandu peneliti dan dosen dalam melakukan beragam riset dan pengembangan, serta menghasilkan inovasi yang bermutu dan laik industri, terutama dalam 11 bidang riset prioritas, yaitu pertanian dan pangan, energi, energi baru dan energi terbarukan, obat dan kesehatan, informasi dan komunikasi, transportasi, pertahanan dan keamanan, advance material (nanoteknologi), maritim, kebencanaan, kebijakan,serta sosial humaniora.

Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education Mohammad Nasir said another indicator is 75% of college graduates get a grade point average (GPA) above 2.75 and 60% of university graduates immediately find work.

"To improve the quality of college graduates, the measures undertaken by the ministry such as closing the college in violation of the law, review the various regulations of higher education so as to encourage the implementation of quality higher education, accreditation of universities and study programs both nationally and internationally," Minister Nasir told reporters here on Monday (28/12).

According to him, increasing the quality and quantity of lecturers through scholarships, training and certification, improving the quality and quantity of education, cooperation of higher education in various countries, the provision of a variety of scholarship schemes and various types of higher education for students, so that all prospective students can live lectures, and later will be able to fill the needs of the job market at home and abroad, improving the quality and quantity of research and development, and an increasing number of innovations.

Mr Nasir added, the number of lecturers from two and three graduate level has reached 75% while the number of professors around 5,500. The ratio of the number of researchers was 550 per million inhabitants, and a number of scientific works published in international scientific journals. In 2014, the number of Indonesian publications reach more than 5,500 titles in Scopus Index, higher than Vietnam, and 45% of them co-written with foreign researchers.

"Currently, the ministry has a Master Plan for the National Research which will guide researchers and lecturers to do research and development, and produce innovative quality and acceptance of industry, particularly in 11 areas of research priorities, namely agriculture and food, energy, new energy and renewable energy, medicine and health, information and communications, transportation, defense and security, nanotechnology, maritime, disaster, policy, social and humanities.
