HARGA sepeda motor bakal naik dalam waktu dekat menyikapi keputusan Pemerintah Provinsi DKI Jakarta untuk menaikkan Upah Minimum Provinsi (UMP) menjadi Rp2,2 juta beberapa waktu lalu.
"Menghadapi kenaikan UMP, kami akan meningkatkan produktivitas dan juga penurunan biaya produksi, namun apabila tidak bisa, ada penyesuaian harga sepeda motor," kata Wakil Presiden Direktur PT Astra Honda Motor (AHM), Johannes Loman di Bandung, Jumat.
Dia mengakui, tantangan utama tahun depan adalah kenaikan UMP tahun 2013 yang telah disahkan oleh Gubernur DKI Jakarta Joko Widodo sebesar Rp2,2 juta.
"Memang tantangan ini tidak mudah, namun harus bisa kita atasi," ujar Johannes.
Dia menambahkan, besaran UMP memang memiliki dampak yang sangant besar terhadap pabrikan, namun menurutnya tidak terkait dengan pemutusan hubungan kerja (PHK).
"UMP tidak terkait dengan PHK apabila pasar naik atau meningkat, itu bukan masalah," kata Johannes.
PRICE of motorcycle will raise soon in response to the decision of DKI Jakarta provincial administration to increase Provincial Minimum Wage into Rp 2,200,000 some time ago.
“In response to the increase, we will increase productivity and decrease production cost, but id we cannot do it, the price (of motorcycle) will be adjusted,” said Deputy President Director of PT Astra Honda Motor (AHM), Johannes Loman in Bandung on Friday.
He admitted that the main challenge next year is the increase of wage in 2013 already ratified by Governor of DKI Jakarta, Joko Widodo, into Rp 2.2 million.
“This is indeed a difficult challenge, but we must be able to deal with it,” said Johannes.
He added that wage indeed affects greatly on manufacture, but he argued that it does not have anything to do with dismissal.
“Wage does not have anything to do with dismissal if the market is on the rise, it does not matter,” said Johannes.
