West Brom are now only three points clear of Fulham FC, who are third from bottom but just two points off Norwich City FC – and safety – following a 1-0 triumph over the Canaries. Hugo Rodallega scored the only goal of the game. Cardiff City AFC, a point shy of Fulham, also increased their chances of avoiding the drop by winning 1-0 at Southampton FC, Cala with the decisive strike.
Crystal Palace FC won by the same scoreline against Aston Villa FC and are now seven points clear of the bottom three. Stoke City FC were also 1-0 victors – over Newcastle United FC – in the day´s other fixture.
