Lisabon (B2B) - Benfica sukses meraih gelar juara Liga Portugal mereka yang ke-33 usai menekuk Olhanense 2-0.
Lima, penyerang asal Brasil mencetak sepasang gol di menit ke-57 dan ke-60 sekaligus mengakhiri perburuan gelar di Liga Portugal.
Liga Portugal memang masih menyisakan dua laga namun Benfica sukses mengamankan gelar karena berselisih tujuh poin dengan pesaing terdekatnya, Sporting Lisbon, seperti dilansir Yahoo Sports.
Sebelumnya, Benfica sukses menempati peringkat kedua pada tiga musim terakhir setelah menjadi juara pada 2009-10.
Kesuksesan meraih juara akan menjadi modal berharga tim besutan Jorge Jesus ketika akan meladeni Juventus di semifinal Liga Europa, Kamis, di Portugal.
Sementara itu, Lima (30) yang bergabung dengan Benfica pada 2012 setelah ditransfer dai FC Braga mengatakan telah mencetak gol penting dalam karirnya.
Lisbon - Benfica clinched its 33rd Portuguese league title by beating bottom side Olhanense 2-0 after two goals by Lima on Sunday, bringing an end to FC Porto´s three-year run at the top.
Benfica won its first domestic title since 2009-10 with two rounds to go after striker Lima scored in the 57th and 60th minutes at the Stadium of Light.
The champion can now turn its attention to winning more silverware this season.
Benfica has also reached the final of the Portuguese Cup, and the semifinals of the Europa League and Portuguese League Cup.
Benfica and Porto have monopolized the league title since Sporting Lisbon last won it in 2001-02.
