Kasukabe (B2B) - Pemerintah Kota Kasukabe di Jepang menampilkan karakter manga dan anime Crayon Shin-chan dalam peta kota untuk menarik minat pengunjung dan penduduk baru.
Menurut laman Asahi Shimbun, pemerintah Kota Kasukabe mendistribusikan peta panduan yang sampulnya bergambar keluarga Nohara dari serial "Crayon Shin-chan" untuk mempromosikan atraksi turis dan fasilitas publik kota.
Shin-chan si anak TK dan kedua orang tuanya terdaftar sebagai warga khusus di kota itu dan menjadi 'pemandu' dalam peta.
Cerita manga dan anime Crayon Shin-chan memang berlatar Kasukabe. Sang pengarang, Yoshitu Usui, besar dan tinggal di kota tersebut hingga meninggal dunia pada umur 51 tahun pada September 2009.
Peta panduan yang dibagikan cuma-cuma untuk turis dan warga baru itu berisi peta seluruh kota (skala 1:20.000) dan pemandangan sekitar Stasiun Kasukabe yang diperbesar (1:10.000).
Peta panduan itu juga berisi daftar nomor telepon dan alamat kantor publik, sekolah, taman, dan fasilitas lain.
Ada pula keterangan lokasi toilet bagi orang yang memiliki keterbatasan fisik.
Pada sisi belakang peta terdapat tabel informasi fasilitas turis, tempat melihat-lihat bunga, festival lokal, dan acara lainnya.
Pemerintah kota menghabiskan 1.33 juta yen untuk menerbitkan 40.000 kopi peta panduan tersebut.
Kasukabe - With one of the nation's most beloved manga and anime families "living" here, city officials decided they would be the perfect way to greet visitors and new residents.
The Kasukabe city government is distributing a guide map featuring the Nohara family from the popular "Crayon Shin-chan" series on its front cover, to promote its tourist attractions and public facilities.
Mischievous kindergarten urchin Shin-chan and his parents, who have been registered as special residents by the city, serve as the "guides" for the map.
The long-running manga and anime are set in Kasukabe. The author of the manga, Yoshito Usui, grew up in the city and resided there until he died in an accident in September 2009 at age 51
The map is given free to new residents and tourists addition to an entire city map (at 1:20,000 scale) and an enlarged view of the area surrounding Kasukabe Station (1:10,000).
The guide map also contains a list of phone numbers and addresses of public offices, schools, parks and other facilities. in addition to handicap-accessible toilets and facilities with automated external defibrillators (AEDs).
The reverse side contains a map and a chart full of information on tourist facilities, flower viewing spots, local festivals and other events.
The city government's policy division spent about 1.33 million yen ($15,000) to publish 40,000 copies of the map.
