APPLE resmi meluncurkan dua versi iPhone terbaru, yakni iPhone 6 dengan layar 4,7 inci dan iPhone 6 Plus yang berlayar 5,5 inci.
"Dua iPhone ini jelas memiliki layar yang lebih besar, tetapi yang lebih penting, keduanya merupakan produk yang menakjubkan dalam setiap hal," kata CEO Apple Tim Cook saat memperkenalkan kedua produk ini di California, Selasa waktu setempat (Rabu dini hari WIB) seperti dilansir laman apple.com.
Dua iPhone terbaru tersebut merupakan smartphone tertipis yang pernah dibuat Apple, dan mengusung chip A8 64 bit yang membuatnya 84 kali lebih cepat dari iPhone pertama.
Selain itu, hal yang terbaru lainnya yang dihadirkan Apple pada dua smartphone tersebut yaitu sensor kamera, yang ditambahkan fitur "focus pixels" untuk mebuat auto fokus lebih halus dan cepat.
Apple juga menambahkan piranti lunak stabilisasi gambar untuk fungsi fotografi dan videografi, yang mampu meminimalisir blur foto akibat getaran tangan.
Selain itu terdapat juga "burst mode" pada kamera depan untuk membuat rangkaian foto selfie dengan cepat.
Harga iPhone 6 milai dari 199 dolar AS dengan kontrak dua tahun. Harga iPhone 5s turun menjadi 99 dolar AS dengan dua tahun kontrak, seperti dilansir USA Today.
AFTER years of resisting efforts to respond to competitors with bigger iPhones, Apple joined the crowd Tuesday, with two new models.
The 4.7 inch screen iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, with a 5.5 inch screen, go on sale September 19th. The iPhone 6, which also sports an upgraded processor, improved camera and better battery, starts at $199 with a two-year contract, while the iPhone 6 Plus starts at $299 with a two-year contract.
The price for last year's model, the iPhone 5s, is now dropped to $99 with a two-year contract.
The upgrade to Apple's mobile operating system, IOS8, will be available as a free download on September 17th.
Most of the online rumors about the new iPhone were spot on--except for one big one. Analysts had expected the new iPhone to have a stronger, almost unbreakable screen made from Sapphire crystal, but the screen ended up staying the same. The new Sapphire screens Apple is having manufactured in Mesa, Arizona is being used on the upcoming Apple Watch, a digital watch coming in 2015.
The new iPhones are the thinnest Apple has made to date, and has a faster A8 64-bit chip that makes it "84" times faster than the original iPhone, says Apple. Additionally, the iPhone camera gets an upgrade, with a enhanced image sensor and the addition of "focus pixels," to make auto focus smoother and faster.
