Liverpool (B2B) - Gerrard berlinang air mata setelah Liverpool menuai hasil positif untuk memenangkan laga Premier League setelah mengalahkan Manchester City lewat pertandingan bertensi tinggi di Anfield, Minggu malam (13/4).
Kapten Liverpool itu memanggil rekan satu timnya untuk berjalan bersama setelah pastikan kemenangan 3-2 atas Manchester City, seperti dilansir Yahoo Sports.
Ia kemudian mengatakan dengan berapi-api, "Dengar, ini sudah berlalu. Kami akan bertandang ke Norwich, dengan cara yang persis sama. Mari kita pergi bersama-sama. Ayo!"
Setelah itu, Gerrard menggambarkannya laga melawan Manchester City dengan mengatakan, "Laga terpanjang selama 90 menit yang pernah saya mainkan...seolah-olah jam justru bergerak mundur."
Gerrard mengatakan laga melawan City sangat emosional namun masih ada empat laga tersisa untuk dimenangkan jika ingin menjadi juara.
"Itu laga emosional. Sangat emosional, meski kami harus tetap tenang. Masih ada empat laga besar yang akan datang dan sangat berarti. Kami cemas akan hal terburuk yang akan terjadi pada saat itu," kata Gerrard dilansir dari laman Daily Mail, Minggu (13/4).
"Kami akan berjuang dengan sekuat tenaga. Belum ada yang menang, meski itulah capaian terbesar yang telah kami buat sejauh ini. Laga selama 90 menit terpanjang yang pernah saya jalani," katanya.
"Saya mengingat kembali berapa lama waktu yang dihabiskan dalam pertandingan final dan di pertandingan besar yang sudah saya mainkan. Rasanya seperti jam justru bergerak mundur di beberapa bagian laga tersebut," katanya.
"Itu hasil yang besar. Sekarang kami punya empat laga final yang tersisa," kata Gerrard menggambarkan empat laga di Liga Inggris seperti final.
Berkat gol Raheem Sterling, Martin Skrtel, dan Coutinho, The Reds meraih kemenangan liga ke-10 berturut-turut dan menjadi pemuncak klasemen liga Inggris dengan koleksi 77 poin berselisih Chelsea di peringkat kedua dengan 75 poin.

The 33-year-old Liverpool captain shed tears as he celebrated the Reds’ 3-2 win at Anfield.
Liverpool shot out to a 2-0 lead, but Manchester City fought back and tied the game in the second half. Philippe Coutinho then scored the game-winning goal in the 78th minute, as the Reds claimed all three points.
The crowd was going wild, but Gerrard quickly composed himself and spoke to his teammates in a postgame huddle on the field.
“This is gone, we go Norwich, exactly the same,” Gerrard told his fellow Reds, according to the Mirror. Minutes later, Gerrard told Sky Sports about the relief he felt after the final whistle.
“I’m emotional,” Gerrard said.
“I think we showed today we are going to go to the wire, we are going to go all the way. Nothing is won yet, but that was probably the biggest statement we have made so far.
“That’s the longest 90 minutes I’ve probably ever played in. It felt like the clock was going backwards in some parts of that game."
“But that is such a big result for us. We’ve got four cup finals left. People said that was the biggest one, but I disagree — I think the biggest one now is Norwich.
The win kept Liverpool atop the Premier League standings, as it chases its league title since 1990. First-place Liverpool visits Norwich City on Saturday, looking to extend its 10-game winning streak and close in on the title with just four games remaining in the season.
A league championship is the one major honor at club level which has so far eluded Gerrard.
