Jakarta (B2B) - Menteri Pertanian RI Andi Amran Sulaiman pagi ini, Senin (1/8) dijadwalkan melakukan kunjungan kerja ke Provinsi Kalimantan Timur (Kaltim), untuk melakukan panen padi dan mekanisasi tanam di Kecamatan Babulu, Kabupaten Penajam Paser Utara (PPU) bersama Gubernur Kalimantan Timur, H Awang Faroek Ishak.
Mentan dijadwalkan tiba di Balikpapan pada pukul 08:20 WITA setelah bertolak dari Makassar, Provinsi Sulawesi Selatan pada pukul 07:00 dan akan menggunakan speedboat menuju lokasi panen.
Setelah istirahat, sholat dan makan siang (Ishoma), Mentan melanjutkan kunjungan kerja pusat pengembangan indukan sapi impor sebanyak 1.926 ekor dan 1.053 ekor sapi lahir dengan pola integrasi sawit dan sapi.
Produksi Padi
Sebagaimana dilaporkan, Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) Kaltim menyatakan bahwa produksi padi di provinsi tersebut menurun hingga 4,17% dari 426.567 ton gabah kering giling (GKG) pada 2014 menjadi 408.782 ton GKG pada 2015.
Kepala BPS Kaltim, M Habibullah mengatakan dalam beberapa tahun terakhir produksi padi di Kaltim memang terus mengalami penurunan sejak 2013 dengan produksi mencapai 439.439 ton GKG atau turun 12.872 ton GKG dari produksi 2012.
"Penurunan produksi padi 17.785 ton GKG akibat menurunnya luas panen hingga 1,05 ribu hektar atau minus 1,05 persen dari 2014," kata Habibullah.
Menurutnya, selain juga akibat penurunan produktivitas padi hingga 1,35 kuintal per hektar atau minus 3,17% ketimbang tahun sebelumnya, dan penurunan produksi terbesar terjadi di Kabupaten Berau.
Luas Panen
Secara rinci ia menjelaskan penurunan produksi padi pada 2014 hingga 2015, pertama akibat luas panen pada 2014 mencapai 100.262 ha, namun pada 2015 menyusut menjadi 99.209 ha, atau berkurang 1,05%. Faktor kedua karena produktivitas pada 2014 yang mencapai 42,55 kuintal per hektar turun menjadi 41,20 kuintal per hektar pada 2015, atau menurun 3,17%.
Penurunan produksi padi terbesar terjadi pada subround Mei - Agutus dan subround September - Desember, masing-masing turun 11,05% dan 11,75%. Sementara
untuk subround Mei - Agutus, dari 86.034 ton pada 2014 menjadi 76.530 ton pada 2015, kemudian subround September - Desember dari 101.876 ton pada 2014 turun menjadi 89.904 ton GKG pada 2015, seperti dilansir korankaltim.com.

Paddy Production
As reported, the provincial statistics agency stated that rice production across the province decreased to 4.17% from 426,567 tons of milled rice in 2014 to 408,782 tonnes in 2015.
