Lombok Timur, NTB (B2B) - Kementerian Pertanian RI melalui Direktorat Jenderal Hortikultura akan mengusulkan penetapan standar harga cabai kepada Pemerintah RI, dengan menetapkan Harga Pembelian Pemerintah (HPP) seperti yang diterapkan pada gabah sehingga dapat menjaga motivasi petani cabai untuk meningkatkan produksi di dalam negeri.
"Kami di Ditjen Hortikultura sedang mengusulkan standar harga seperti halnya HPP untuk cabai, lihat saja harga cabai merah besar di Lombok Timur anjlok sampai ke empat ribu rupiah per kilogram, itu kan sangat merugikan petani dan bisa berpengaruh pada motivasi mereka," Direktur Jenderal Hortikultura, Spudnik saat kunjungan kerja di Kabupaten Lombok Timur, Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Barat pada Sabtu (18/6).
Menurutnya, anjloknya harga cabai merah besar sangat merugikan petani seperti yang terjadi saat ini di Lombok Timur yang merupakan sentra produksi cabai di NTB.
"Seperti halnya bawang merah kita usahakan minimal atau tidak boleh di bawah Rp15 ribu per kilogram, agar petani untung, nah kalau harganya di bawah harga standar maka pemerintah harus ambil, dan kita juga beri toleransi kenaikan 10 persen bisa ke 16 ribu atau 17 ribu rupiah per kilogram, dengan HPP maka petani akan tertolong," kata Spudnik.
Namun dia menolak mengungkap berapa usulan standar harga cabai yang layak bagi petani, karena masih digodok di Kementan oleh Ditjen Hortikultura dan pihak terkait. Hal itu terkait jenis cabai seperti cabai rawit hijau, cabai rawit merah, cabai keriting, dan cabai merah besar.
"Melihat kondisi produksi dan harga cabai di tingkat produsen yakni petani masih memprihatinkan, makanya saya datang ke sini untuk melihat langsung sehingga dapat menjadi masukan dan pertimbangan sebelum menggodok usulan standarisasi harga cabai," kata Spudnik.
Fluktuasi harga cabai di NTB terjadi setiap hari seperti diungkapkan oleh Neni Yuliawati, Kepala Seksi Hortikultura dari Dinas Pertanian Kabupaten Lombok Timur, seperti cabai rawit caplak, sebutan warga setempat untuk cabai rawit hijau pada Sabtu (18/6) di kisaran Rp4.000 hingga Rp5.000 per kg, sementara untuk cabai rawit merah mencapai Rp6.000 per kg.
"Orang Lombok lebih suka cabai rawit merah dan bisa mencapai 11 ribu rupiah per kilogram untuk pasaran di sini, saat ini petani Lombok Timur memilih tidak mengirim ke Jawa, karena harga di Pasar Induk Kramat Jati, Jakarta Timur hanya delapan ribu rupiah per kilogram," kata Neni kepada B2B.

"We´re in the directorate general of horticulture is proposing a standard price as well as HPP for chili, just look at the price red chili in East Lombok dropped to four thousand rupiah per kilogram, it´s very detrimental for farmers and could have an effect on their motivation to planting of chili," said Director General of Horticulture, Spudnik Sujono on a working visit in East Lombok regency of West Nusa Tenggara province (NTB) on Saturday (18/6).
According to him, the declining price of chili losses to farmers, as happens today in East Lombok which is a center for chili production in the NTB.
"Just like the shallot we strive for minimal or should not be below 15 thousand rupiah per kilogram, for farmers to make a profit, if the price is below standard, the government must take the initiative to buy, tolerance increase of 10 percent may go to 16 thousand or 17 thousand rupiah per kilogram and HPP will help the farmers," Sujono said.
But he refused to reveal how the proposed standards price of chili is worth it, because it is still being discussed in the ministry by the directorate general of horticulture and related parties. This is related to the type of chili like green chili, red chili sauce, chili curly, and a large red chili.
"Considering the condition of production and price of chili at farmers´ level of concern, then I am here to see first hand so that it can be input and consideration before discussing it further," Sujono said.
Chili price fluctuations occur every day in the NTB as revealed by Neni Yuliawati, Head of Horticulture Section of East Lombok Agriculture Office, for example caplak chili price, called of local residents for green chili on Saturday (18/6) at around 4,000 rupiah to 5,000 rupiah per kg , while the red chili sauce reaches 6,000 rupiah per kg.
"Our people prefer red chili sauce and the price reached 11 thousand rupiah per kilogram here, today the farmers choose not to send to Java, because the prices in Kramat Jati Central Market of East Jakarta only eight thousand rupiah per kilogram," Yuliawati said to the B2B.
