Panen Padi di Malang, Mentan Pastikan Produksi Beras 2016 Memadai

Purwodadi, Jawa Tengah (B2B) - Dalam kunjungan kerja ke Provinsi Jawa Timur, Menteri Pertanian RI Andi Amran Sulaiman melakukan panen padi bersama para petani di Desa Senggreng, Kecamatan Sumberpucung, Kabupaten Malang pada Selasa, 2 Februari 2016. Turut hadir Wakil Gubernur Jawa Timur, Syaifullah Yusuf dan Panglima Kodam V Brawijaya, Mayor Jenderal Sumardi.
“Sejak bulan Januari 2016, setiap hari ada panen padi, sehingga hasil produksinya telah mencapai 500 ribu ton gabah. Kami harapkan produksi padi kita cukup sehingga kebutuhan beras di tanah air ini tidak sampai harus mengimpor beras dari negara lain,” kata Mentan Amran Sulaiman kepada pers setelah panen padi tersebut.
Terkait musim kemarau panjang sebagai dampak dari El Nino, menurutnya, pemerintah telah melakukan berbagai upaya agar tidak terlalu berdampak pada produksi pertanian, salah satu kiatnya adalah menyalurkan puluhan ribu bantuan alat dan mesin pertanian (Alsintan) kepada para petani didukung pembangunan embung pada tiap daerah yang membutuhkan.
Bantuan Alsintan kepada petani di seluruh Indonesia meliputi alat penanam padi, mesin panen, dan alat pengolah padi. "Setiap tahun, pemerintah selalu memberikan bantuan Alsintan sejak 2014 dan 2015 dan jumlahnya akan terus bertambah setiap tahun."
Dia menambahkan, tahun ini Kementerian Pertanian RI akan menyalurkan bantuan Alsintan sebanyak 100.000 unit kepada petani di seluruh Indonesia, kalau pada 2014 hanya 4.000 unit dan pada 2015 meningkat menjadi 80.000 unit atau naik 2.000% untuk tahun ini.
Keluhan Petani
Dalam kesempatan tersebut, petani dari gabungan kelompok tani (Gapoktan) setempat mengeluhkan kesulitan mendapatkan Alsintan, karena kabarnya hanya diberikan kepada Gapoktan yang berbadan hukum saja, Mentan menyanggah kabar tersebut karena tidak perlu badan hukum tapi cukup dengan
surat keputusan (SK) dari bupati setempat.
"Bantuan 100 ribu benih padi juga tidak perlu badan hukum, yang penting adalah benih bantuan ditanam di seluruh Indonesia, karena pemerintah tidak pernah berniat mempersulit petani untuk meningkatkan produksi pertaniannya," kata Mentan.
Menurutnya, manfaat utama dari Alsintan dan bantuan benih dari pemerintah untuk Jawa Timur dapat meningkatkan produksi pada 500.000 hektar lahan produktif seperti di lokasi panen padi sehingga mampu mendukung pemenuhan kebutuhan pangan nasional.
"Dengan melimpahnya produksi padi, maka Indonesia tidak lagi kekurangan pasokan beras sehingga tidak perlu lagi mengimpor beras," kata Mentan.
Mentan juga mengingatkan para petani setempat untuk menjual gabahnya kepada Badan Urusan Logistik (Bulog) sebagai garda terdepan untuk stabilitator harga pangan pokok, sehingga rakyat tidak perlu resah pada kenaikan harga beras karena kemitraan petani dan Bulog.

The Farmers Complain
