Kalau harga beras Rp 12 ribu mestinya harga gabah Rp8.000 hingga Rp9.000 per kg. Itulah sinyal pemerintah harus impor. Ternyata pasokan cukup, lihat saja padi menguning siap dipanen. Wartawan buktikan sendiri kan, silahkan potret hamparan padi menguning ini sebagai bukti," kata Amran Sulaiman kepada wartawan usai panen raya perdana Musim Tanam I (MT I) di Desa
Dempet, Kecamatan Demak, Jawa Tengah bersama Bupati Demak Mohammad Dachirin Said dan Muspida setempat, Selasa pagi.
Demak, Central Java (B2B) - Indonesian Agriculture Minister, Amran Sulaiman confirms the price of rice is not related to the supply of rice, because the higher bid than demand. The proof, the price of rice in the farmers around IDR 4,300 to IDR 5,200 per kg as a sign of stable rice production. Conversely, if grain prices from the farmers rose to Rp9,000 per kg it is a signal that the government had to import rice.
Rice prices lately are caused by the act of middlemen and speculators who try to encourage the government to import rice, but rice harvest in Indonesia beyond the needs of consumers.
"Before I got here, I monitor to three times the grain prices in a rice mill to know grain prices at the farmer level. Apparently there are still feasible for the farmers and not burden the consumer, prices range from Rp 4,300 to IDR 5,100 per kg. If the price of rice IDR 12 thousand grain prices should IDR 8,000 to IDR 9,000 per kg. That government must be imported signals. Apparently enough supply, see here ready to harvest rice. journalists for yourself, please take a picture as proof, " Amran Sulaiman told reporters after the rice harvest in the Dempet village, Dempet sub-district of Central Java`s Demak district with Demak Reget Mohammad Dachirin Said and local leaders here on Tuesday morning.
Earlier, Indonesian Agriculture Ministry ensure national rice supplies more than enough, with dry milled grain harvest estimate of two million hectares of rice fields across Indonesia in January and February 2015, with an average production of at least six million tonnes per hectare will produce 12 million tons of milled grain, while the rice supplies in Logistics Agency, known as the Bulog, about 1.7 million tons.
"Rice production in January from 600 thousand hectares of rice fields, and 1.3 million hectares of rice fields across Indonesia will harvest this February. Say for example, two million hectares of production multiplied by six to seven tons per hectare, which means that there are 12 million tons of grain. Now the rice supplies in Bulog about 1.7 million tons. That´s not counting of inventory in the barn, in the market, and traders warehouses," Mr Sulaiman told the press here in his office on last week.
When asked by reporters about the rice price increases to IDR 11,000 per kg, he claimed to have called the Trade Minister, Rahmat Gobel.
"The price of rice ask the trade minister. Earlier I had the phone, our duty to ensure adequate of rice production," Mr Sulaiman added.
