Jakarta (B2B) - Badan Penelitian dan Pengembangan (Balitbang) Pertanian di Kementerian Pertanian RI mengembangkan jenis pupuk dengan teknologi nano. Pupuk nano dapat menghemat anggaran subsidi pupuk hingga Rp8,5 triliun sementara saat ini anggaran untuk subsidi pupuk mencapai Rp17,9 triliun.

Kepala Balitbang Pertanian, Haryono menegaskan pihaknya saat ini tengah mengembangkan pupuk nano yang lebih unggul dari pupuk konvensional, khususnya bersifat slow release. Maksudnya, partikel pupuk baru akan pecah apabila mencapai akar tanaman sehingga menyerap pupuk lebih sempurna.

"Daya serap tanaman terhadap pupuk konvensional maksimal hanya 50 persen, sisanya luruh ke tanah dan mencemari lingkungan. Sebaliknya, pupuk nano memiliki partikel mikro untuk mencapai akar tanaman," kata Haryono kepada pers di Jakarta, Kamis.

Kelebihan lainnya, kata Haryono, aplikasi pupuk nano hanya sekali dalam satu musim tanam sedangkan pupuk konvensional biasanya butuh dua sampai tiga kali aplikasi.

"Walaupun harga pupuk nano lebih mahal, tapi lebih hemat karena hanya satu kali aplikasi," ungkapnya lagi.

Dia menambahkan, Balitbang Pertanian mengembangkan teknologi nano sejak 2007 untuk dapat diterapkan di hulu maupun hilir pertanian sehingga mampu menjadi penopang kemajuan pertanian Indonesia.

Jakarta (B2B) - Indonesian Agency for Agricultural Research and Development in Agriculture Ministry (IAARD) developing nano-fertilizers.  Application of nano-fertilizers can save fertilizer subsidy Rp8.5 trillion, while the fertilizer subsidy has reached Rp17,9 trillion.

Head of IAARD, Haryono stated that his side is currently developing nano-fertilizers better than conventional fertilizers, especially on a slow-release capability. The point is, the particles will be broken if the fertilizer reach the roots of plants so that absorption is more perfect.

"Absorption of conventional fertilizer of crops to maximum only 50 percent, the rest drops to the ground and pollute the environment. Conversely, nano-fertilizers has micro particles to reach the roots of plants," Haryono told reporters in here on Thursday.

He said, nano-fertilizers application only once in a single growing season while the conventional fertilizers usually takes two to three times the application.

"Although the nano-fertilizers prices are more expensive, but more efficient because only one application," he said.

Haryono added, IAARD since 2007 to develop nano technology for implementation in the upstream and downstream agriculture as a pillar of Indonesian agricultural progress.
