Deputi Bidang Teknologi Dirgantara Lapan Rika Andiarti mengatakan satelit Lapan-A2 didukung sensor canggih berupa receiver AIS memanfaatkan sistem radio amatir yang dilengkapi Automatic Position Reporting System (APRS).

Bogor (B2B) - Institute of Aeronautics and Space of Indonesia is better known as Lapan was ready to support the Axis Maritime, by deploying Lapan-A2 satellite supports monitoring the waters of Indonesia begin the first half of 2015. The satellite will be launched early in 2015 by India, which supported Automatic Identification System to monitor the waters of Indonesia.

Lapan-A2 satellite can monitor ships passing through the waters of Indonesia, such as the name and flag of the ship, where the ship is registered, the type of ship, the physical dimensions and tonnage of ships, routes, and the port of origin.

Deputy of Aerospace Technology of Lapan, Rika Andiarti said Lapan-A2 satellite has sophisticated sensors such as AIS receiver, utilize amateur radio systems equipped Automatic Position Reporting System (APRS). Analogue and digital camera capability is more qualified to reach the waters of Indonesia, because it is placed in equatorial orbit.

"India has confirmed the launch of the Lapan-A2 satellite in the first half of 2015, while Lapan-A3 satellite at the end of 2015," said Rika Andiarti to the press in Rumpin, Bogor, West Java, on Thursday.

"The two satellites will be in the territory of Indonesia 14 times in one day," she said.
