PULAU kecil tanpa penghuni di Pulau Mamula, Montenegro di Laut Adriatik, akan dikembangkan fungsinya dari sebuah benteng menjadi tempat peristirahatan dikelilingi kolam renang dengan pohon-pohon palem, beach club, lantai dansa untuk pesta dan marina untuk sandar kapal pesiar.
Keputusan untuk mengubah pulau itu menjadi peristirahatan mewah diprotes oleh keluarga dari penduduk setempat yang pernah menjadi tahanan di benteng tersebut.
Terletak di pintu masuk Teluk Kotor, pulau berbatu pernah berfungsi sebagai kamp konsentrasi ketika Montenegro diduduki oleh pasukan Italia di bawah pemerintahan pemimpin fasis Benito Mussolini seperti dilansir MailOnline.
