Jakarta (B2B) - Presiden Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono memahami langkah presiden terpilih Joko Widodo untuk membentuk tim transisi sebelum benar-benar menjalankan tugas negara.

Ia pun menilai langkah tersebut tidak keliru. Bahkan mendukung langkah tersebut. Menurutnya, sebagai presiden tentu ada keinginan untuk sukses menjalankan roda pemerintahan.

Namun, Presiden SBY beranggapan pemilihan waktu untuk membentuk ataupun memberikan pekerjaan pada tim transisi tidaklah tepat. Apalagi proses pilpres berupa gugatan di Mahkamah Konstitusi (MK) belum usai.

"Tapi sekali lagi, tunggu timing yang tepat. Rasanya tidak baik dan tidak etis ketika MK sedang bersidang, belum mengambil keputusan apapun lantas saya, misalkan atau menteri-menteri di kabinet saya untuk bersama-sama merencanakan masa transisi ini," katanya dalam dalam program “Isu Terkini” melalui kanal YouTube.

Ia mengatakan langkah Jokowi dipahami karena setelah mengucap sumpah di MPR beberapa bulan ke depan, sejumlah agenda penting akan menanti. Termasuk agenda yang taraf internasional dan regional seperti KTT ASEAN, APEC, hingga G-20.

Tetapi, proses pilpres belum benar-benar selesai. MK masih melanjutkan proses gugatan pasangan Prabowo-Hatta.

"MK masih bersidang dan belum memberikan putusan atas apa yang diadukan Prabowo-Hatta. Oleh karena itu, saya mengulangi seruan saya beberapa saat lalu, semua pihak harus bersabar terlebih dulu," katanya.


Jakarta (B2B) - Indonesian President, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has given a positive response to the preparations made by President-elect Joko Widodos transitional government.

In a YouTube video, downloaded from his Twitter account @SBYudhoyono, the president responded to the latest issues on Thursday night.

Yudhoyono stated that he understood the reason behind President-elect Joko Widodo, better known as Jokowi, preparing a transitional government since within a month, he should directly engage in international forums, starting from the ASEAN Summit, ASEAN Plus and East Asia Summit, APEC, and G20.

President Yudhoyono noted that Indonesia has played an important role in these international forums.

"In this context, therefore, I understand that the president-elect needs to make better preparations," the president remarked.

Yudhoyono recollected that he was not well-prepared when he was inaugurated as president on October 4, 2004.

"At the time, I did not have any access to make the preparations when I was inaugurated as the president of the Republic of Indonesia," Yudhoyono remarked.

Therefore, he agreed with Jokowis decision to go ahead with the necessary preparations for the transitional government in view of the lawsuit against the presidential election results, which was filed by the Prabowo-Hatta camp.

"I really support Jokowis attempts to make preparations for the transitional government, but I think it is not ethical at this time when the Constitutional Court is in session," he added.
