Semarang (B2B) - Puluhan polisi anggota Polrestabes Semarang yang dinilai kelebihan berat badan diwajibkan mengikuti program joging "tengah hari bolong". Para polisi itu dikumpulkan di halaman Polrestabes Semarang, Rabu (13/8/2014), sebelum disuruh berlari sejauh lima kilometer, saat matahari bersinar terik.

Kepala Polrestabes Semarang Komisaris Besar Djihartono mengatakan, program ini merupakan bagian dari upaya mendukung pelayanan terhadap masyarakat. "Untuk menjaga penampilan anggota sebagai personel polisi," kata Djihartono.

Program ini juga bertujuan untuk menjaga kebugaran anggota dalam bertugas. "Untuk kesigapan, kalau gemuk kan tidak gesit," tambah Djihartono.

Menurut Djihartono, kegiatan ini digelar dua kali dalam sepekan untuk jangka waktu yang belum ditentukan.

Sementara itu, salah seorang anggota Polrestabes Semarang yang kelebihan berat badan, Aiptu Makmun, menilai bahwa kegiatan ini bermanfaat. Dia menargetkan penurunan berat badan sekitar 15 kilogram setelah menjalani program tersebut. "Biar capek tidak apa-apa karena memang jarang olahraga," kata Makmun. (Ant)


Semarang (B2B) - Dozens of obese policemen and policewomen of Semarang Police Office, Central Java are undergoing mandatory exercise to lower their body weight.

Chief of Semarang Police Office Senior Commissioner Djihartono said here on Wednesday that the exercise was also aimed at maintaining the body shape and the appearance of the police personnel.

The police personnel who are overweight gather at the front yard of the office at noon for a five-kilometer jogging routine at the trimming program.

"The program is also conducted to maintain their agility. If they are fat, they will not be nimble," Djihartono pointed out.

Police officers who are considered to be overweight should join the program scheduled twice a week.

One of the "fat" policemen, Aiptu Makmun, remarked that the program was useful as he had aimed at reducing 15 kilograms. "It is alright if the exercise makes me tired, because I rarely do exercise," he added.
