Jakarta (B2B) - Government asked to assign Lapindo mudflow disaster as drilling technical error, and not a natural disaster, according to the analysis of drilling experts from Indonesia and abroad.

Chairman of the Institute of Social Studies Politics and National Security (LKSPKN) Sulistomo Bambang said state funding through Budget Expenditures and Expenditure (Budget) has spent many thousands of people to overcome difficulties caused by Lapindo mudflow.

"Now is the time this nation promises to charge the owner of Lapindo to complete the payment of compensation to the people afflicted by the mud," said the son of a national hero, Bung Tomo in Jakarta, Sunday (17/2).

Previously reported, President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) urges Lapindo, to keeping promises pay compensation to people affected by mudflow in Sidoarjo, East Java.

"Tell Lapindo, that promise must be kept. If you mess with the people, that the affairs of the world and the hereafter," the president said at the opening plenary cabinet meeting at the Presidential Office on Thursday last week.
