Jakarta (B2B) - Ruhut Sitompul, politisi Partai Demokrat memilih mengundurkan diri dari pencalonan Ketua Komisi III DPR. Ruhut menolak penetapan ketua komisi hukum parlemen tersebut melalui mekanisme voting.

"Ketua komisi hukum itu merupakan hak dari Fraksi Demokrat untuk memilihnya," kata Ruhut Sitompul pada rapat pleno Komisi III DPR di gedung parlemen Senayan, Jakarta, Senin (7/10).

Dia mengaku ingin menjadi ´negarawan yang baik´ dengan menghindari polemik.

Keputusan Ruhut disambut positif oleh Wakil Ketua DPR, Priyo Budi Santoso dan Fraksi Demokrat diberi waktu untuk mencari kandidat lain untuk menggantikan Ruhut.

Sebelumnya, terjadi perdebatan panjang di antara sejumlah anggota komisi yang menolak Ruhut sebagai kandidat Ketua Komisi III DPR. Karena tidak ditemukan kesepakatan, beberapa anggota meminta untuk diadakan voting.

Jakarta (B2B) - Democrat  party politician Ruhut Sitompul, has decided to step dwon from his nomination as the Chief of Commission III of the House of Representatives. Ruhut claimed that he not agreed to comply with the voting mechanism applicable in determining the Comission´s chief.

"Democrat faction has the right to elect the the Legal Commission Chief," Ruhut Sitompul said at a plenary meeting of Commission III at the parliament building in Senayan, Jakarta, Monday (7/10).

However, he also stated that he wanted to be a "great statesman by avoiding polemic."

Sitompul´s decision received positive appreciation from Priyo Budi Santoso, Deputy Chaiman of the House and has allowed the Democrat faction to find another sutable candidate to replace Sitompul.

Previously, a long debate emerged between members of the Commission as they reject Sitompul´s nomination as the Chief of Commission III, causing a political deadlock and prompts members of the Comission from different factions to take a vote.
