Indonesia-Ghana Strengthen Health and Energy Cooperation

Badung, Bali [B2B] - Presiden Joko Widodo melakukan pertemuan bilateral dengan Presiden Ghana Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo di Ruang Casablanca, Hotel Mulia Nusa Dua Bali, pada Senin (2/9).
Dalam pertemuan tersebut, kedua pemimpin negara membahas berbagai upaya untuk memperkuat hubungan bilateral yang telah terjalin selama 65 tahun antara Indonesia dan Ghana.
"Selamat datang di Indonesia, dan terima kasih atas kehadiran Yang Mulia. Hubungan bilateral antara Indonesia dan Ghana telah terjalin selama 65 tahun, dan kita perlu terus memperkuatnya, terutama dalam tiga sektor kerja sama utama,” ujar Jokowi.
Pertama, Jokowi menyoroti kerja sama di bidang kesehatan. Kepala Negara menyambut baik kolaborasi antara Bio Farma Indonesia dan Atlantic Lab Science Ghana.
"Saya berharap kerja sama ini dapat mendorong produksi vaksin lokal di Ghana dan mendukung program vaksinasi di negara-negara Afrika lainnya," ungkap Jokowi.
Selain itu, Jokowi juga minta dukungan dari Presiden Akufo-Addo terkait penandatanganan nota kesepahaman (MoU) tentang pengawasan pangan dan obat-obatan antara otoritas pengawas kedua negara. Presiden berharap MoU tersebut dapat memperkuat sinergi di sektor farmasi Indonesia-Ghana.
Kedua, Jokowi mengusulkan pengembangan kerja sama di sektor energi, terutama dalam eksplorasi minyak dan gas. Presiden Jokowi menyebut Indonesia dan Ghana harus mengeksplorasi kerja sama di bidang minyak dan gas, termasuk pendirian kilang minyak di Ghana yang melibatkan Indonesia.
“Kerja sama ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan nilai tambah dan memenuhi kebutuhan energi di Ghana,” ujar Presiden Jokowi.
Ketiga, Jokowi kembali menekankan pentingnya kerja sama di bidang pembangunan. Menurut Presiden, kerja sama tersebut dapat disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan Ghana.
“Indonesia terbuka untuk bekerja sama dengan Ghana dalam program-program yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan Ghana melalui mekanisme Indonesia Aid termasuk dukungan teknis, beasiswa, dan pelatihan vokasional,” tutur Jokowi.

In the meeting, the two heads of state discussed various efforts to strengthen the 65-year bilateral relationship between Indonesia and Ghana.
"Welcome to Indonesia, and thank you for your presence. The bilateral relationship between Indonesia and Ghana has existed for 65 years, and we need to continue to strengthen it, especially in three main cooperation sectors," said Jokowi.
First, Jokowi highlighted cooperation in the health sector. The Head of State welcomed the collaboration between Bio Farma Indonesia and Atlantic Lab Science Ghana.
"I hope this cooperation can encourage local vaccine production in Ghana and support vaccination programs in other African countries," said Jokowi.
In addition, Jokowi also asked for support from President Akufo-Addo regarding the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on food and drug supervision between the supervisory authorities of the two countries. The President hopes that the MoU can strengthen synergy in the Indonesia-Ghana pharmaceutical sector.
Second, Jokowi proposed the development of cooperation in the energy sector, especially in oil and gas exploration. President Jokowi said that Indonesia and Ghana must explore cooperation in the oil and gas sector, including the establishment of an oil refinery in Ghana involving Indonesia.
"This cooperation is expected to increase added value and meet energy needs in Ghana," said President Jokowi.
Third, Jokowi reiterated the importance of cooperation in the field of development. According to the President, the cooperation can be adjusted to Ghana's needs.
"Indonesia is open to working with Ghana on programs that suit Ghana's needs through the Indonesia Aid mechanism including technical support, scholarships, and vocational training," said Jokowi.
