Jakarta (B2B) - Public Works Ministry Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT) is set to raise the tariff of toll roads across the county on the second quarter this year. According to BPJT head, Ahmad Ghani Ghazaly, the rise is effective on September 27, 2013.
"The percentage of the rise is expected to be around 10 percent on average," he said in the press conference at his office, Friday, August 30, 2013.
Ghani said that the tariff might change depending on the inflation rate in every region during the first period of September 2011 until August 31, 2013.
He said that BPJT is still waiting for the calculation of inflation from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS).
"Usually in the mid September, the inflation rate will be released," he said
He adding, that the rise of toll road tariff this year is lower compared to that in 2011, which reached 8 to 12 percent.
Ghani also said that the rise of toll road tariff is a periodic adjustment done every two-year. He noted that the measure to raise the tariff has to be done to maintain the investment climate in the toll road infrastructure sector. "We don't want to cause financial losses to the investor," he said.
