Jakarta (B2B) - Menteri Komunikasi dan Informatika (Menkominfo) Tifatul Sembiring mengenang Joop Ave, mantan Menparpostel era Orde Baru, sebagai sosok yang sarat dengan pengalaman khususnya di bidang kehumasan dan komunikasi.
"Kami turut berduka cita yang mendalam atas wafatnya Bapak Joop Ave, beliau sosok yang sarat pengalaman di bidang kehumasan dan komunikasi," kata Menkominfo Tifatul Sembiring kepada Antara, di Jakarta, Kamis, sehubungannya meninggalnya Joop Ave di Singapura pada Rabu sore.
Joop Ave yang lahir di Yogyakarta pada 1943 meninggal dunia di RS Mount Elizabeth Singapura pada Rabu (5/2) pukul 18:30 waktu setempat.
Menurut rencana jenazah Joop Ave diterbangkan ke Denpasar Bali pada Kamis ini, untuk disemayamkan dan akan dikremasi pada Sabtu (8/2).
Dia pernah menjabat Menteri Pariwisata Pos dan Telekomunikasi pada 1993-1998.
Joop Ave, yang menguasai tiga bahasa yakni Inggris, Prancis dan Jerman telah aktif selama 20 tahun di bidang protokoler dan pernah menjabat Direktur Jenderal Pariwisata pada 1987-1992.

"We extend our deep condolences on the death of Joop Ave, a person who was full of experience in the field of public relations and communication," Minister Tifatul stated here on Thursday.
Joop Ave, who was born in 1943 in Yogyakarta province, passed away in Mount Elizabeth hospital in Singapore on February 5, at 6.30 p.m. Singapore time.
Joop Aves body is scheduled to be flown to Jakarta on February 6 and is expected to be cremated in Bali on Saturday (Feb. 8).
He was the Communication and Information Minister between 1993 and 1997.
Joop Ave, who had mastered three foreign languages namely English, French, and German, was active for 20 years in the field of protocol and as Director General of Tourism (1987-1992).
