NOKIA mengumumkan smartphone Android andalan pertamanya - Nokia 8 - saat perusahaan mencoba untuk menantang pesaing utamanya seperti Samsung dan Apple untuk pertama kalinya.
Perangkat baru, yang harganya sekitar Rp9,3 jutaan, hadir dengan fitur kamera layar terpisah yang disebut Dual Sight yang menggabungkan foto atau video dari kamera depan dan belakang pada waktu bersamaan.
Hasilnya adalah apa yang Nokia sebut sebagai 'Bothie', yang diharapkan perusahaan akan menawarkan selfie baru.

Sejak itu Nokia telah meluncurkan tiga ponsel Android kelas menengah - Nokia 3,5 dan 6, serta versi revisi 3310 yang berusia 17 tahun.
HMD Global mengonfirmasi bahwa Nokia 8 akan mulai dijual di 'awal September' dan mengatakan bahwa perangkat tersebut ditujukan untuk pengguna media sosial dan pembuat video.
Nokia 8 unggulan ini dibekali kamera belakang ganda 13 megapiksel, serta kamera depan depan 13 megapiksel.

Rekaman dari audio ini bisa terdengar jelas karena menggunakan tiga mikrofon yang berbeda dan dapat memutar ulang suara dalam berbagai arah, meniru bagaimana pengambilannya saat merekam.
Perangkat terdiri dari unibody yang dilakukan dari satu bagian aluminium yang berukuran 4,6 mm tipis di tepi dan hanya 7,3mm.
Nokia menawarkan empat pilihan warna: biru tua, warna tembaga metalik, krem baja dan biru terang.
Spesifikasi ponsel tampaknya berupaya menjadi saingan seperti iPhone milik Apple dan Samsung Galaxy S8 di pasar smartphone saat ini.
"Kami tahu bahwa penggemar Nokia menciptakan dan berbagi konten langsung lebih dari sebelumnya, dengan jutaan foto dan video dibagikan setiap menit di media sosial," kata bos produksi HMD Juho Sarvikas.

Live video yang diambil menggunakan mode Dual Sight 8 dapat dibagi langsung ke Facebook atau YouTube dari aplikasi Kamera.

NOKIA has unveiled its first flagship Android smartphone - the Nokia 8 - as the firm attempts to challenge the likes of Samsung and Apple for the first time.
The new device, which will cost $700, comes with a split screen camera feature called Dual Sight which combines a photo or video from the front and rear-facing cameras at the same time.
The result is what Nokia is calling a 'Bothie', which the company hopes will offer a new take on selfies.
The Nokia brand is now under license to Finnish start-up HMD Global, which sparked the firm's revival earlier this year.
Since then Nokia has launched three mid-range Android phones - the Nokia 3,5 and 6, as well as a revamped version of the 17-year-old 3310.
HMD Global confirmed the Nokia 8 will go on sale in 'early September' and said the device was aimed at social media users and video creators.
The flagship Nokia 8 features dual 13-megapixel rear cameras, as well as a 13-megapixel front-facing camera.
Both the front and rear cameras feature optics technology from imaging giant Zeiss, who announced a new partnership with Nokia and HMD Global last month.
Zeiss technology is also being used to help improve the quality of photos taken on the 8, Nokia said.
'Image fusion algorithms' are in place to combine images captured by the two rear lenses into single photos.
The new phone also houses spatial audio technology previously only used in Nokia's high-end OZO 360 camera.
This records sound using three different microphones and can play back sound in multiple directions, imitating how it was captured during recording.
The device consists of a unibody milled from a single piece of aluminium that measures 4.6mm (0.2") thin at the edge and just 7.3mm (0.3") slim.
Nokia is offering four colour options: Polished blue, polished copper, steel and tempered blue.
The phone's specifications place it as a rival to the likes of Apple's iPhone and Samsung's Galaxy S8 in the current smartphone market.
'We know that fans are creating and sharing live content more than ever before, with millions of photos and videos shared every minute on social media,' HMD chief product officer Juho Sarvikas said.
'People are inspired by the content they consume and are looking for new ways to create their own.
'It's these people who have inspired us to craft a flagship smartphone which perfectly balances premium design, an outstanding experience and powerful performance.'
Live video captured using the 8's Dual Sight mode can be shared directly to Facebook or YouTube from within the phone's Camera app.
Nokia and HMD Global's unveiling comes a week before Samsung is due to announce their next Note smartphone.
The device will be Samsung's first since the Note 7 was discontinued last year over battery fires and safety fears.
The next iPhone, marking 10 years since the device first launched, is also expected to be announced in September.
