Jakarta (B2B) - Menteri Pertanian Dr Ir Suswono MMA mengajak TNI untuk bekerja sama memperkuat ketahanan pangan nasional dalam mengatasi masalah tenaga kerja. Selain bantuan tenaga kerja, anggota TNI akan dilatih untuk memanfaatkan peralatan pertanian untuk pengolahan lahan.

Ajakan kerja sama tersebut dikemukakan Suswono saat menjadi pembicara pada kegiatan Rapat Koordinasi Teritorial TNI Tahun Anggaran 2013 di Cilangkap, Jakarta Timur, Senin (4/2).

"Saat ini tenaga kerja di bidang pertanian mulai sulit ditemukan dan biayanya mahal sehingga dapat mengganggu program ketahanan pangan yang gencar dilakukan pemerintah," kata Suswono.

Menyikapi hal itu, kata Suswono, Kementerian Pertanian menggandeng TNI, untuk membantu mewujudkan ketahanan pangan di antaranya masalah tenaga kerja tersebut. Selain bantuan tenaga kerja, anggota TNI akan dilatih untuk bisa memanfaatkan peralatan pertanian guna mengolah lahan.

Sementara itu, secara teknis bantuan tenaga kerja dari TNI akan dikoordinasikan berdasarkan wilayah teritorial.

"Nanti ada Dandim (Komandan Kodim), ada Babinsa (Bintara Pembina Desa), dan ada yang lain. Nanti Babinsa itu langsung bertemu dengan para penyuluh. Selain itu, para anggota TNI pun dapat ditugaskan sebagai pengawas lapangan dan operator teknis di pertanian, termasuk dengan penggunaan teknologi. Nanti ada pelatihan dari TNI untuk mengoperasikan teknologi itu," jelas Mentan.

Sebagaimana diketahui, untuk mendukung ketahanan pangan nasional, Kementerian Pertanian bersama Tentara Nasional Indonesia (TNI) sepakat melakukan kerjasama program pembangunan pertanian yang tertuang dalam Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). Penandatangan MoU tersebut dilaksanakan oleh Menteri Pertanian, Dr Ir Suswono, MMA dan Panglima TNI Agus Suhartono pada 2012.
