TNI Dukung Perluas Lahan Kedelai 340 Ribu Hektar

Subang (B2B) - Menteri Pertanian Suswono dan Panglima TNI Jenderal Moeldoko menanam kedelai pada Rabu pagi (14/5) di Desa Ponggang, Kecamatan Serang Panjang, Kabupaten Subang, Jawa Barat. Kegiatan tersebut sebagai pencanangan perluasan areal tanam kedelai tahun 2014 seluas 340 ribu hektar di 15 provinsi dan 115 kabupaten.
Rombongan tiba di lokasi pada pukul 08:34 WIB setelah bertolak dari Bandara Halim PK pukul 07:45 WIB dengan dua helikopter milik TNI dan mendarat di helipad di Desa Cijengkol, yang berjarak sekitar lima ki,ometer dari lokasi penanaman kedelai.
"Pagi ini di Subang pada pukul 08:48 WIB, TNI mencanangkan dan mendukung perluasan penanaman kedelai," kata Jenderal TNI Moeldoko sebelum menanam kedelai, yang didampingi Menteri Pertanian Suswono, Direktur Jenderal Prasarana dan Sarana Pertanian (PSP) Gatot Irianto serta perwira tinggi TNI dan pejabat di provinsi Jawa Barat dan Kabupaten Subang.
Suswono mengatakan, kerja sama tersebut merupakan upaya terobosan untuk meningkatkan produksi dan produktivitas target swasembada kedelai.
Menurut Suswono, saat ini kebutuhan kedelai nasional mencapai 1,9 juta ton biji kering namun kemampuan produksi baru mencapai 807.568 ton atau 42,50 persen dari kebutuhan pada 2013.
Dia mengharapkan, target pencapaian swasembada dan swasembada berkelanjutan komoditas kedelai dapat tercapai tahun ini. Karena itu, ditempuh berbagai upaya di antaranya melalui dukungan prajurit TNI khususnya TNI-AD untuk mendukung peningkatan produktivitas, perluasan areal tanam, optimasi pengelolaan lahan dan penyempurnaan manajamen.
"Terkait kerja sama perluasan areal tanam diharapkan TNI AD dapat melakukan pengawalan dan pendampingan bersama petugas teknis pertanian di lapangan hingga tanaman kedelai berhasil dengan baik," kata Suswono.

Moeldoko planting soybeans on Wednesday morning (14/5) in Ponggang villages, Serang Panjang subdistrict, Subang district, West Java. Those activities as a launching soybean planting 340,000 hectares in 15 provinces and 115 districts this year.
Entourage arrived at the site at 8:34 am with two military helicopters from Halim Perdana Kusuma Airport in Jakarta at 07:45 am, and landed on the helipad at Cijengkol village, which is about five kilometers from the location of planting soybeans.
"This morning at 8:48 am in Subang, the Indonesian military launched and supports the expansion of soybean," Gen. Moeldoko said before planting of soybean, which accompanied Suswono and Director General of Agricultural Infrastructure and Facilities (PSP) Gatot Irianto and high-ranking Indonesian military and officials of West Java province and Subang district.
Suswono said the partnership is a breakthrough for increasing production and productivity in order to realize self-sufficiency in of soybean.
He said the current national soybean demand reached 1.9 million tons of dry beans but new production capacity reaches 807,568 tons, or 42.50 percent of the the needs in 2013.
He hoped sustainable of soybean self-sufficiency achieved this year. Therefore, various efforts taken by the government including through the support of the military, especially the Army to increase productivity, expansion of planting areas, land management optimization and management improvements.
"We expect the Army to provide assistance to farmers with agricultural extension since the time of planting, maintenance until harvest," said Suswono.
