Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (B2B) - Indonesia berpeluang mengekspor beras ke Malaysia dalam waktu dekat, setelah Agung Hendriadi selaku Kepala Badan Ketahanan Pangan - Kementerian Pertanian RI (BKP Kementan) bertemu dengan CEO Bernas, Ismail Mohamed Yusoff dan Chairman Bernas, Megat Joha di Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Agung H mengatakan bahwa Bernas menyetujui opsi kerjasama dengan Perum Bulog, untuk mengimpor beras dari Indonesia melalui BUMN pangan tersebut, yang akan diawali dengan kunjungan pimpinan Bernas ke Indonesia dalam waktu dekat untuk melakukan identifikasi, observasi, dan pembahasan lebih lanjut dengan Bulog untuk memuluskan langkah Indonesia mengekspor beras ke Malaysia.
"Sehubungan adanya peluang mengekspor beras ke Malaysia, Perum Bulog diharapkan lebih proaktif melakukan roundtable meeting antara distributor ke dua belah pihak, sehingga ekspor beras Indonesia ke Malaysia bisa segera direalisasikan," kata Agung H kepada pers setelah bertemu bos Bernas di Kuala Lumpur, Kamis (21/2).
Agung H mengaku senang dan optimistis rencana ekspor beras tersebut segera terwujud setelah dirinya didampingi Direktur Komersial Bulog, Judith J Dipodiputro dan diplomat senior dari Kedutaan Besar RI (KBRI) di Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Sebagaimana diketahui, Bernas merupakan satu-satunya perusahaan swasta yang ditunjuk oleh pemerintah Malaysia untuk menangani impor beras ke Malaysia.
"Pangsa pasar beras di Malaysia sekitar 60 persen dipenuhi oleh produksi domestik, dan 40 persen dari beras impor," kata Agung H mengutip keterangan CEO Bernas, Ismail Mohamed Yusoff.

Hendriadi said that Bernas approved the option of cooperation with Indonesian Logistics Agency or the Bulog to import rice from Indonesia´s state-of the food, which will begin with a visit from Bernas officials to Indonesia for further identification, observation and discussion with the Bulog.
"In relation to the opportunity to export rice to Malaysia, Bulog must be proactive in conducting a roundtable meeting with Malaysian Bernas," Hendriadi told the press after met with the Bernas here.
Hendriadi said he was happy and optimistic that the rice export plan would be realized, after he was accompanied by Bulog´s Commercial Director, Judith J Dipodiputro and senior diplomat of Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur.
As is known, the Bernas is only private company appointed by Malaysian government to handle the import of rice to Malaysia.
"The market share of rice in Malaysia is around 60 percent, filled by domestic production, and 40 percent from imported rice," Hendriadi quoted Bernas CEO Ismail Mohamed Yusoff as saying.
