Jakarta (B2B) - Presiden Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) mengatakan akan mengganti Panglima TNI Laksamana Agus Suhartono dan Kepala Polri (Kapolri) Jendral Timur Pradopo bulan Agustus atau September mendatang.
Menurut informasi di laman resmi Sekretariat Kabinet, Presiden mengemukakan hal itu dalam wawancara dengan Majalah Tempo di Wisma Negara Jakarta, Jumat (5/4) pekan lalu, untuk publikasi edisi 8-14 April 2013.
"Panglima TNI akan memasuki masa pensiun. Kapolri sebenarnya sampai Januari tahun depan. Tapi karena Kapolri memiliki tugas penting berkaitan dengan Pemilu 2014, justru penggantiannya tidak bisa mendekati tahun itu," kata Presiden.
Menurut Presiden, Panglima TNI perlu diganti karena faktor usia dan figur baru Kapolri yang cakap tidak hanya dibutuhkan untuk mengamankan Pemilu 2014 dan mengatasi mengatasi berbagai gangguan keamanan.
