Jakarta (B2B) - Sejumlah pakar pertanian dari Balai Besar Penelitian Tanaman Padi (BB Padi) meluruskan hasil kajian Departemen Proteksi Tanaman Fakultas Pertanian Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB) bahwa benih padi hibrida asal China tercemar bakteri burkholderia glumae, sementara bakteri tersebut ada di Indonesia sejak 1987 namun hingga saat ini belum pernah terjadi gagal panen (puso) di lahan benih hibrida di seluruh Indonesia.

Sementara Badan Karantina Pertanian (Barantan) berhasil menangkal masuknya bakteri burkholderia glumae sebagai hasil Temuan Organisme Pengganggu Tumbuhan Karantina (OPTK) asal luar negeri dari hasil pemeriksaan karantina tumbuhan yang terdeteksi positif dan tertangkal pada 2014.

Hasil temuan tersebut dinyatakan pada Laporan Kinerja Barantan 2014 yang menyebutkan Unit Pelaksana Teknis (UPT) Balai Besar Karantina Pertanian (BBKP) Surabaya menangkal bakteri berbahaya pada media pembawa (komoditi) benih padi dari negara asalnya, China seperti tertera pada data di atas.

Penegasan tersebut dikemukakan tiga peneliti senior BB Padi yakni Prof Dr Suwarno, Prof Sarlan dan Dr Ir Satoto, Kepala Pusat Karantina Tumbuhan, Antarjo Dikin di Jakarta pada Senin (19/12).

Prof Dr Suwarno menegaskan hasil kajian Departemen Proteksi Tanaman Fakultas Pertanian IPB seperti dinyatakan Dr Suryo Wiyono adalah keliru karena penelitian hanya dilakukan di lokasi yakni Kabupaten Tegal di Provinsi Jawa Tengah dan Kabupaten Blitar di Jawa Timur.

"Artinya, hasil penelitian Dr Suryo Wiyono tidak komprehensif karena benih padi hibrida ditanam di banyak tempat mulai dari Sumatera, Jawa, NTB dan Sulawesi, dengan produktivitas 13 ton per hektar," kata Prof Suwarno kepada pers di Jakarta pada Senin sore (19/12).

Prof Sarlan menambahkan total luas tanam benih padi hibrida hanya sekitar 0,3% dari total luas lahan persawahan di seluruh Indonesia yang mencapai 14 juta hektar, sementara benih padi hibrida yang diimpor dari China jumlahnya hanya 800 ton untuk luasan lahan 50 hektar saja.

"Kami dari BB Padi menilai hasil kajian tersebut tidak komprehensif dan menyesatkan sehingga akan meresahkan petani," kata Prof Sarlan di tempat yang sama.

Dr Ir Satoto mengingatkan bahwa bakteri burkholderia glumae sudah ada di Indonesia sejak 1987, dan bukan hal baru seperti dikemukakan Suryo Wiyono pada hasil kajiannya.

Menurutnya, sejak 1987 hingga saat ini belum pernah ada kejadian luar biasa karena bakteri burkholderia glumae yang mengakibatkan gagal panen. Walaupun ada ancaman bakteri berbahaya tersebut tidak mengganggu produksi petani.

Kepala BB Padi Mohammad Ismail Wahab menambahkan bakteri burkholderia glumae tergolong bakteri tipe A2 yang dapat dikendalikan, dan sudah ada sejak 1987 namun hingga saat ini belum pernah ada kejadian yang mengakibatkan gagal panen (puso).

Jakarta (B2B) - A number of agricultural experts Indonesian Center for Rice Research (ICRR) assessment results the Department of Plant Protection in Faculty of Agriculture of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) that the hybrid rice seeds from China contaminated with the bacteria burkholderia glumae, the bacteria exist in Indonesia since 1987 so that no new issue, and has so far not proven to sparked crop failure.

While the Indonesia's Agriculture Quarantine Agency (IAQA) succeed prevent the bacteria burkholderia glumae into Indonesia as revealed in the findings of quarantine plant pests from abroad, as reported from results of the examination of plant quarantine are detected positive in 2014.

The facts was stated by IAQA on the 2014 Performance Report mentions technical unit in Surabaya's Agricultural Quarantine Office managed to prevent harmful bacteria on the media carrier rice seeds from China into Indonesia as shown in above data.

It was raised by three senior researcher of ICCR/BB Padi ie Prof Dr Suwarno, Prof Sarlan, Dr Ir Satoto, and
Director of Plant Quarantine, Antarjo Dikin here on Monday (12.19.16).

Prof Dr Suwarno confirm assessment results the Department of Plant Protection IPB Bogor was stated by Dr Suryo Wiyono  are wrong because the assessment only done in two locations namely Tegal District of Central Java Province and Blitar District of East Java Province.

"It means the research of Dr Suryo Wiyono not comprehensive because hybrid rice seed planted in many places from Sumatra, Java, West Nusa Tenggara and Sulawesi, with a productivity of 13 tons per hectare," Prof Suwarno said here.

Prof Sarlan added a total planting area of hybrid rice seeds only about 0.3% of the total area of paddy fields across Indonesia reached 14 million hectares, while the hybrid rice seeds imported from China was only 800 tons for 50 hectares.

Dr Ir Satoto reminded that the bacteria burkholderia glumae in Indonesia since 1987, and not a new issue as stated by Suryo Wiyono of research results.

According to him, since 1987 until now there has never been extraordinary event because of burkholderia glumae related crop failure.

Director of ICCR Mohammad Ismail Wahab said bacteria burkholderia glumae classified as type A2 can be controlled, and has existed since 1987 but until now it has never happened harvest failure.
